Hotel Vedensky
The history of this building began back in 1781, when the decree of Catherine II founded the "small folk" school among the first schools in St. Petersburg. The Vedenskaya Gymnasium was considered the largest educational institution.
The great Russian poet Alexander Blok studied at the gymnasium in 1891-1898. Since 1910, Sergei Vasiliev, a Soviet actor, film director and screenwriter, director of the film Chapaev, studied here. Later, in the Soviet years, a professional technical school at the Vulkan plant was located in the building of the Vedenskaya Gymnasium, and in 1954 Yuri Gagarin held an industrial internship here.
After a long reconstruction of the building, the Vedensky Hotel was opened in October 2011. Now the hotel has 190 rooms, buffet breakfasts, 5 conference rooms. NEVESOMOST panoramic restaurant is open on the roof with stunning views of the city. It offers a 24-hour lobby bar, sauna, free gym, underground parking, 2 beauty salons, a large gift shop.
